My dad has alzheimer's. My mom was worried that he might fall getting out of bed when his balance is off (we tried a baby monitor but it didn't pick up enough sound to let us know when he was up). The motion detector works EXACTLY like she needed. It does not sound unless he sits up in bed. By the time she hears the chime she has enough time to go into the room and help him if he needs it. You can set the chime to a remote receiver or the sensor. She has the chime set to the remote and can hear it throughout the house even if she forgets and leaves it sitting in a room. The sensor and remote both take a 9-volt battery and they last a lot longer than the ones that take the button batteries. They both are pretty much tamper proof as well. My 91 year old mother uses it so she can hear my 91 year father (with dementia). She loves it - it may have saved his life! I highly recommend it!!! The batteries needed to be changed after 2 months - but that's okay. ------ Bgins

We are using this alarm to notify my mother in another room if my father wanders towards the front door. The alarm is clear and gives her plenty of time to react if my father leaves out the door. We place the alarm at the wall going out the door, so anyone that comes in or out sets off the alarm. It is perfect for our needs. Very satisfied! ----- Vicky H.

Sleeping soundly at night now thanks to this motion detector...purchased to help me with tracking my mom at night in case she got up and it has done a great job! Easy to use, LOUD enough (might need to muffle the speaker on the receiver, I did). It is mobile and has great range, I can be outside in the yard and it alerts me when she is up and about. I recommend for anybody who is care-taking an elder with dementia. Thanks to those who reviewed this product before me; truly helped with the decision. ----- M Rhodes

My son often got out of bed at night, and it worried us as parents. The alarm system is easy to set up, completely mobile. It even has an audible sound difference when the batteries are getting low.
