The Pull String Alert Monitor has a magnetic switch that is great for someone who spends a lot of time in the bed or chair.
It is very simple and effective, just attach the metal clip to the patient and the alert unit to the wheelchair or bed.
So how does the Pull String Alert Monitor work?
There are 2 parts to the system: The first part is the Alarm Unit that hangs on a chair, wheelchair or bed. It is held on by an adjustable strap. The second part is a metal clip that clips to the clothing of the person being monitored. There is a 28'' string attached to the metal clip that is connected to a magnet that normally is connected to the alert unit of the system. When the person being monitored moves and pulls the string the magnet becomes disconnected from the unit and sounds the alarm.
Is the unit permanent?
No, the unit is totally portable. Re-clip the metal clip as you move or change clothing. Move the monitor with you from place to place.
Can the volume be adjusted? Yes, the system has an adjustable volume that can be easily adjusted if necessary. To ensure the alarm is heard and the volume is not accidentally lowered the volume can only be adjusted by opening the battery compartment.
