Set the blanket timer for 30 or 45 minutes to control the length of heat. The blanket has an automatic 'shut-off' once the set time has elapsed. This is a safety feature that helps to avoid a drained battery if it was left on.
Set the timer, then plug the blanket into a 12 volt auto socket. A red LED light tells you the unit is turned on. Use the 'reset' button to start the time over once the blanket has turned off. There are no cold areas of the blanket because the heating wires are designed in a grid pattern within the blanket.
